Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!  My name is Beth Waters and I am so excited about this year. This year will be my 24th year teaching elementary school and my 21st year at Cedar Grove.   I love being a part of the Cedar Grove family.  We have an AMAZING school!  I have taught kindergarten, fourth grade, and fifth grade.  I love teaching fifth grade. Fifth grade was one of my favorites when I was in school.  I had an amazing fifth-grade teacher, Mrs. Arquez.  I hope I can make a difference in the lives of my students just as she did in mine. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Lander University and my Master's Degree in Education from Southern Wesleyan University. I am married to Allen Waters and have two beautiful daughters: Ally and Josi. We also have the sweetest Yorkie. His name is Milo.

I knew at a very young age, I wanted to be a teacher.  My favorite thing to do as a child was to go to work with my Papa, who was the principal at Varennes Elementary School. He would open up a classroom and let me "play school" while he worked.  My very first teaching job was in one of those exact classrooms that I played in as a child. I was very honored to be hired at Varennes.  Even though my Papa had long retired, several of "his" teachers took me under their wings and helped prepare me for the most rewarding career! My Papa loved his students and always made sure they knew how special they were to him. That is one of my greatest goals as a teacher. I love my job and I love my students!

In my spare time, I love to READ! I am a huge Clemson fan and love cheering on my Tigers!!! I also love to watch the Atlanta Braves. Josi keeps us busy with volleyball and softball. She is a member of the Palmetto Lady Mustangs Varsity Volleyball and Softball teams and Carolina Thunder softball.  I am one proud mom and love cheering for her. I am very excited about this school year!  I think it is going to be the best yet! Ally is busy earning her education degree at Anderson University.
