• Melissa Freeman Welcome to Mrs. Freeman's Website
WELCOME to the 2019-20 school year!  I look forward to a great year at Powdersville Elementary.
Let me introduce myself.  I am a graduate of Carson-Newman College with a degree in Special Education and an Elementary Education certification add-on.  In 2007, I received my National Board Certification and have recently renewed my certification.  I have also received my Master's Degree in Special Education Inclusion from Concordia University.  This year will be my 21st year of teaching.  I have taught Self-Contained Special Education, Resource, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade.  The Resource classroom has been my home for the last seven years and I enjoy the challenge of helping students develop strategies that help them succeed in the general education classroom.
My family is the most precious thing to me!  My husband, Daniel and I, have been married for 19 years, and I have two active boys named Benjamin and Micah.  Benjamin is 14 years old and is in the 9th grade.  Micah is 10 and will be in the fourth grade.  In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and singing at church.
We are going to have a great year in the Resource classroom this year!
