    Welcome to 5th Grade! This is my ninth year of full-time teaching at Cedar Grove.Teaching is a second career for me; I worked for 18 years as a journalist and PR/marketing specialist prior to teaching. I received my B.A. from Furman University (Go Paladins!) in 1992, and obtained my elementary education post-baccalaureate at Western Governors University in 2011. My goal is to make your 5th grade year at Cedar Grove the best! 
     
    I am a Williamston native and a product of ASD1, having graduated from Palmetto High School. I have been married for 27 years to Kelly Summerlin, a software engineer. We have two daughters -- Kaylee and Rosalie. I love music, theatre, writing and traveling. 
     
    I am looking forward to a wonderful year in 5th grade at Cedar Grove!
