Welcome to 5th grade!  My name is Emily Curry.   I am so excited about the 2016-2017 school year with all the wonderful learning experiences we have planned for an AMAZING year! You are going to love all that we learn and discover together in fifth grade!  I will be teaching ELA and Social Studies to two classes. I am privileged to be your child's teacher and can't wait to work together to make this a wonderful year!  I invite you to volunteer in my classroom and our school.  Also, please encourage your child at home by helping to ensure that they have completed their assignments, and help them study for tests, if necessary.  I will keep you informed of all assignments, announcements, and how your child is doing through emails, notes, phone calls and weekly newsletters that will be coming home with your child.   Please feel free to contact me by email, phone, or letter in your child's communication folder.  Together we can make a difference!

A little about Mrs. Curry... I was born and raised in Madison, Indiana.  Even though I wasn't born in the south, I got here as quickly as I could!  In 2006, I graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education.  At Clemson, I was a Clemson Tiger Twirler with "The Band that Shakes the Southland."    This is my tenth year at Cedar Grove Elementary and my eleventh year teaching. I was privileged to be named the 2012-2013 Teacher of the Year for Cedar Grove and a District Finalist for Teacher of the Year. My husband, Lance, is an Instructional Technology Facilitator for Greenville County Schools and the drumline instructor for the Clemson University Marching Band.  My daughter, Addison, is two years old. We live in Liberty. When I am not teaching, I enjoy being outside, teaching baton, shopping, crafting, spending time with my friends and family, and going to Clemson football, basketball and baseball games.  Go Tigers!
