Hello ! Welcome to Mrs. White's Classroom!
A little about me....
The 2018-2019 school year will be my fifth year teaching in Anderson District One, and my 12th year teaching special education. Before I came to Anderson, I spent 7 years teaching students with moderate intellectual disabilities and autism in Greenville County.
I first knew I wanted to teach special education when I was a junior at Greer High School. Since then, I have enjoyed pursuing and living out that dream! I received my Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Winthrop University in 2007, and my Masters of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College in 2009.
I believe with my whole heart that every student has strengths, and every student has a capacity to learn. I enjoy finding new ways to help my students learn how to be as independent as possible in their surroundings. I also believe that education is a joint effort, especially in the field of special education. I love working alongside my students' families and walking with them through their child's successes!
I am married to the most wonderful man, Matthew. He is on staff at NewSpring Church, and he loves his job there. We have two beautiful daughters, Abbye and Alston.
