Welcome to Rebecca Cothran's Classroom!
Hi! I am Rebecca Cothran and welcome to the 2018-19 school year. I am ecstatic about working with you and your child. It is going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures. This is my twelfth year at Cedar Grove, but my 17th year teaching. I graduated from Lander University in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I pursued my dream to become a teacher after working in the business world. My first Bachelor's degree was in Business Administration from Lander University in 1996. In 2007, I graduated from Walden University with a Master's degree in Elementary Education Mathematics. In November 2009, I became a National Board Certified Teacher. I graduated from Anderson University in May 2012 with an Administration Degree.
I believe it is important for students to see that we are life long learners! I am married and have two wonderful sons, Luke and Ben. Some things I love to do are flower gardening, shopping, and spending time with my family at the beach! I also love to READ!!! I believe learning should be fun, and try to incorporate games into my classroom. I hope to share my love for learning with all of you. Please feel free to contact me anytime during the year with any questions or concerns. I am very excited about all the fun learning activities we will complete this year!
