• Hi There - Welcome to Gregory Davis's Art Class.
    Gregg Davis
At Palmetto High School, our mission in Art class is to pay attention to the world around us. We will learn how art has affected the world throughout time and how understanding art of the past inspires us to think creatively in the future. We will learn to share our unique perceptions of the world by using the elements of art and the principles of design in innovative ways. We will help each other work at our best, remain focused, and work respectfully.

My name is Gregg Davis. I grew up in Williamston, S.C.,  where I now live with my wife Caroline, in the stone house my grandpa built for my grandma in 1946. I graduated from Palmetto High School in 1982 and Cum Laude from Furman University in 1986. I am a National Board Certified Art Teacher, and have taught both high school and middle school art for the past 28 years. I've also been teaching drawing classes for adults and children at Furman University since 1986. I draw a lot in my spare time, especially portraits.
The 2016-17 school year begins my 30th year teaching, and my 2nd at Palmetto. I taught 22 years at Hillcrest Middle School before that, and 6 at Woodmont High.
I love music, particularly indie and alternative rock. I have 38,722 songs on my hard drive, and you'll hear most of them during class.
My all-time favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and my favorite band is Game Theory.
Reading makes you a better human being.
