    Message from Mrs. Brewer...
In school, I wasn't that Principal's honor roll, or even A/B Honor roll student. I honestly remember just sort of coasting through high school, doing the bare minimum necessary to get by.  What I was certain of though was that I wanted to go to college. Neither of my parents furthered their education, and up to that point, none of my brothers or sister had either. So, I wanted to be the first. I wanted to break that cycle...and I did! I certainly set a precedent in my family but I'd be lying if I told you that it was easy. It was hard, really hard. And it was extremely hard for me because I didn't take advantage of what was set before me in high school. I hate it took me so long to learn how valuable my education was, but fortunately, I had enough motivation and desire to succeed to earn myself a degree in a profession I knew I would be able to make a difference. I share this with you so that you know, I was once in your shoes. I know the struggles of high school and the struggles that come with not being that straight A student. In my classroom, I fully believe that EVERYONE, no matter their color or their past, can be successful in my classroom. I hope you're ready to read and I hope you're ready to write. And if reading and writing is just not "your thing" I hope that you will give me a chance to change your mind and broaden your perspective on both!

I look forward to our year together!
