Welcome to Biology! I am very excited to be a Powdersville patriot for my 15th year in the classroom (in Georgia, Greenville county, and Anderson county).
After high school, I earned a B.S. degree in Biology from Valdosta State in Georgia, then worked for a few years on a Master's in Geology. From there I spent quite a few years working in several research labs (the Center for Applied Isotope Studies at the University of Georgia and Lubrizol in Ohio), before earning a Master's degree in Science education from the University of Georgia. I have also completed my Master's + 30 certification.
I have taught every subject except physics (and hope to keep it that way!) but biology is my passion. I love doing as many labs as I can and have a lot of experience that I hope to share with you.
I have two grown daughters - Mariana who works in Alabama for a leasing management company (and will get married next spring), and Michelle who completed a master's degree in Germany in political science and is now working in Washington D.C. Of course there's my current baby, Isabel (my cat). I love traveling (especially the mountains), watching historical movies, and Starbucks!
Please check out the links above for information concerning my classes. I check my email frequently and welcome any questions or concerns you may have. Make sure to use Google Classroom for all assignments, notes, projects, etc. as I update it frequently. This is going to be a great year!.....I just feel it!
