Hi! My name is Mrs. Smith and it is my pleasure to welcome your child into my first grade classroom! This will be a year filled with enriched learning and amazing growth. I know how precious your children are and I will provide a safe and nurturing environment for them to blossom. As the year begins, I will dedicate myself to your children and work toward instilling in each child a true love of learning. The focus will be to encourage your children to give their best effort possible and take risks in discovering new ways to learn. I will create a positive learning environment in the classroom that I hope will inspire them.I have been married to my husband Bob for 31 wonderful years. We have been blessed with two amazing sons, Keegan and Nolan, and we simply enjoy our time with them! My son Keegan just married sweet Grace so our family is even more lovely! As a family, we like to visit family, hike, swim or just relax by reading or watching movies. We also have a Double Doodle dog, Blarney, who makes us laugh and smile all the time. We simply love our family life!I have my Bachelor of Arts in three areas: Social Science Education (7-12), Elementary Education (N-6) and Political Science including a minor in music. I also hold my Master of Arts Degree in Social Studies Education from Albany State University. I am certified to teach in three different areas: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and Social Studies Education. It was my dream as a child to become a teacher. I have more than 21 years teaching experience. I am so happy to be a first grade teacher and contribute to the wonderful learning environment here at Hunt Meadows Elementary!I believe it is vital to keep open communication with parents and caregivers of the children I teach. Please always feel free to contact me any time!I am very excited to work with your children this year!Photographs are my own and all other graphics are downloaded from images.google.com
