Tommy Bolger has been named the new principal of Wren Elementary School by Anderson School District One and the School Board of Trustees. He has served as Ravenel Elementary School’s principal since 2006.

“As I enter my 20th year in education, I am honored and humbled to become the principal at Wren Elementary. I have spent the last 8 years as the principal of Ravenel Elementary School in Oconee County which I truly loved. However, to come to Wren Elementary and to Anderson District One makes me excited and I am looking forward to meeting the Wren community,” Mr. Bolger said.

Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Mr. Bolger relocated to the United states when he was 26 years old. He attended SWU on a soccer scholarship where he pursued a degree in Elementary Education. He then received a masters degree from Clemson University in Educational Leadership. He is currently continuing his education as he pursues his PhD in Educational Leadership.

Superintendent, David Havird said, “Mr. Bolger has an administrative record of strong leadership and excellent communication skills in his previous assignments.  It is my expectation that he will bring much energy and enthusiasm to Wren Elementary School on behalf of the students and staff.  We are pleased to have him join the Anderson District One team.”

Mr. Bolger is married to his wife Tracy who is currently a math teacher at Daniel High School in Pickens County. She has been teaching for 25 years. His daughter Jordan is a junior at Clemson University and is majoring in math and his son Dylan graduated this year from Seneca High School. Dylan will be joining the Air Force in August for 6 years.
