This is my 27th year of teaching here at Wren Elementary School! I received my associate of arts degree from Anderson College (now Anderson University) and my bachelor's degree from Carson Newman College with a double major in religion and human services and a minor in psychology. Before I became a teacher, I was in the field of social work, where I worked with emotionally disturbed and mmentally challenged children. I also worked with families in crisis and children and teens who were victims of abuse. I received my graduate training in early childhood and elementary education from Furman University, and I earned my master's degree in guidance counseling from Clemson University. I am blessed to have three children! Chad is a Clemson graduate and teaches eighth grade language arts at Powdersville Middle School. Jake also graduated from Clemson and now works as an investment advisor. My daughter Callie is a 2014 Wren High School graduate. After having served in Costa Rica as a missionary, she is now both going to college full time as well as working full time. I am so proud of my children. They are truly my greatest blessings, and I thank God for them. I have a golden retriever named Sophie and a collie mix puppy named Sierra! I am a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church. I enjoy reading, all kinds of music, photography, bike riding, running, and the beach! Mrs. Lora Lorey is my assistant in K4. I thank God for the opportunity to have taught at Wren Elementary School for so many years. I truly believe that God called me to be a teacher and I will always be grateful for that calling.
