    Welcome to my second grade classroom!  I have been teaching at Wren Elementary School for twenty years.  I graduated from Lambuth College in my hometown of Jackson, TN.  The college was purchased by the University of Memphis.  I earned a degree in Business Administration (Marketing).  After several years of working in the field of Human Resources and Training I decided to change my career to teaching. 
     
    I graduated from Southern Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in early/elementary education.   I am certified in early childhood, elementary education and reading.  I received my Masters Degree from Clemson University.  I earned 30 hours above my masters in reading and language arts.  I received my National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist in 2015 and 2006. I was awarded the Distinguished Teacher of Reading in 2007 at the South Carolina Reading Conference from the Foothills Reading Council.  Also, I was the 2007-2008 Teacher of the Year.
     
    I love teaching second grade and enjoy watching my second graders blossom into fluent readers and writers. 
     
    My favorite activities are home improvement activities, gardening, crafts, and home improvement projects.
