Welcome to my classroom! This school year will be my 12th year at Powdersville Middle! In addition to teaching 7th grade ELA, I also co-sponsor the PVMS Student Council.
I graduated from Converse College in 1989 with a BA in Accounting and a BA in English. In 2011, I received my MAT in Middle Level Language Arts from Converse College. I have taught ELA for over twenty years and look forward to teaching for many more! I have also been privileged to represent our school as Teacher of the Year in 2015 and 2020.
My husband Joey and I have been married for 33 years and have four sons. Stephen teaches economics and coaches football at PVHS. Ben is a lab assistant for a medical group in Greenville. Mitchell is pursuing a master's degree in Strategic Communications at Texas Christian University while also working as a marketing graduate assistant in the athletic department. Sam, our most recent Clemson graduate, is an analytical chemist for a company in Nashville, TN.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, watching college football (especially the Powdersville Patriots and the Clemson Tigers) and spending time with family and friends. We are active members at Easley First Baptist Church, where I sing in the adult choir, play in the handbell choir, and serve as a deacon.
I am excited about getting to know each of you! I love teaching at PVMS, and I look forward to another spectacular year.
