    Welcome to Gateway to Technology!

    Dear Parents & Guardians,

My name is Ross Pruitt, the Gateway to Technology teacher here at Wren Middle School and I am pleased to welcome you and your child to my class this year.

I am excited about the opportunity to join the Anderson 1 family and contribute to the tradition of excellence.   I graduated from the University of South Carolina with my Bachelor’s degree in Middle Level Science and Math Education and from Furman University with my Master’s degree in Secondary School Leadership. I am certified to teach both middle level science and math as well as the Intro to Engineering, Automation & Robotics and Design & Modeling courses through Project Lead the Way (PLTW).

Gateway to Technology (GTT) is part of Project Lead The Way® (PLTW), which is a not-for-profit organization that promotes pre-engineering courses for middle and high school students. The activity-oriented middle school curriculum is designed to help students in grades 6-8 explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through project-based learning activities, collaborative groups, and a technology-integrated curriculum.

I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to teach your child this year.  If you have any questions, concerns, or if you would like to speak with me personally, you may contact me through the Anderson School District One email, pruittr@apps.anderon1.org
, or by calling the school at (864) 850-5930.
