Yesterday was our Junior Book Award Voting Lunch! Students who read at least 3 of this year's nominees were able to vote on their favorites over yummy chicken sandwiches and cookies. The votes were close, but the favorite book at Wren Middle was Prisoner B-3087, by Alan Gratz. Mrs. Pataky submitted all the votes and in a few weeks, we'll see who is the overall state winner!

Yesterday was World Read Aloud Day (known as #WRAD16 on social media!), a day recognized around the world to celebrate the importance of literacy and sharing stories! Here at Wren we celebrated by having a Read Aloud Cafe in the Media Center. During lunchtime, students brought their lunches to the Media Center to listen to teachers and mentors read their favorite stories, poems, and tales aloud. Almost 200 students came and joined in the fun! You're never too old to listen to stories!
