Anderson School District One is proud to announce the recently released 2019 report cards and test scores that ranks our district and schools among the best in the state.

Superintendent Robbie Binnicker, said, “We are very pleased with the achievement of our students and the progress made. The hard work and dedication of staff, students and parents has again placed the district among the best districts in the state”.

Talking points for Anderson One:

  • The district is extremely proud of the 2019 graduation rate of 91.9% of students earning diplomas. For six years in a row we have had grad rates of 90.20% or above in Anderson One consistently higher than the state average of 81.10% for 2019. This is an initiative where every teacher takes their job very seriously beginning in PreK to grade 12 and is working diligently to help students be successful to meet grade level expectations.

  • Anderson District One was third in the state for grades 3-8 on the state assessment, SC Ready, for ELA and Math. Scores increased in each core area for elementary schools and English I and Algebra I. Assistant Superintendent Jane Harrison said, “These outstanding scores and improvements are evidence of how hard our teachers work. They are the best! Teachers work together to study the data so they can pinpoint exactly what a student needs academically. They are providing intervention and acceleration for all students to learn at high levels.”

  • The progress made for our English as a Second Language students led the state with 68.20% success as compared to the state’s average was 49.80%

Christie Shealy, Coordinator of ESL, said “The number of English Language Learner students in Anderson One ranks in the top third of the state.  The growth of ELL students can be contributed to professional development, outstanding ELL teachers, and classroom teachers working in tandem to see each student reach their fullest potential.  The on-time graduation rate among ELL students was at 88.9 percent.”

  • Powdersville Elementary is ranked the 2nd elementary school in the state on the SC report card. Brad Moore, Principal at Powdersville. "We started the school year with a challenge to our faculty and students to take a 'next level' approach to learning, and I am so proud of our school community to have accomplished just that. Our hard working teachers provide a challenging and consistent curriculum for all students, but also integrate the necessary intervention and support so that all students can grow and achieve as learners. This is the result of a school-wide effort to build positive relationships with students and break down the barriers to learning so that all students can succeed at Powdersville Elementary School."
