The countdown to opening day is officially on, and Oak Hill Elementary School recently took a massive step toward building its new identity. After turning to the local community to vote on the school's official mascot, the winning choice was revealed in spectacular fashion.
To mark the historic occasion, the high school marching band brought the energy, filling the air with music and excitement. The big reveal also got a major boost from some beloved neighborhood friends. The Cricket from Concrete Elementary and Leo the Lion from Powdersville Elementary made an appearance. While the mascot's identity is now out of the bag, one major mystery remains: What is its name?
School administration announced that they are saving the best part for the people who matter most—the students! Once the doors officially open and students return to campus, the student body will get the exclusive honor of voting on the mascot's official name.
"An opening year requires a lot of communication and teamwork," school officials shared. "We are so thrilled by the community's turnout for the mascot vote, and we can't wait to hand the reins over to our students to finish the job this fall!"
Stay tuned for more updates as Oak Hill Elementary prepares for an unforgettable inaugural school year.
