Did you hear? Our 1st and 5th graders had an unforgettable field trip to Clemson Women’s Basketball Education Day! 🏀✨ During halftime they took part in the “Are You Smarter Than a Clemson College Student?” STEM Halftime Show — a fast-paced science trivia contest where K–6 volunteers competed against Clemson undergraduate science majors. All questions were developed by the Clemson University Science Outreach Center and aligned to South Carolina K–6 science standards, so this was real classroom learning in action. Between rounds, Clemson students shared what they’re studying and their career goals, giving our students inspiring STEM role models.

Today, we witnessed the powerful impact of mentorship and community engagement as men from our community took the time to read to K4-5th graders. 🔥 October is Fire Safety Awareness Month! Our K4 classes were thrilled to welcome the Piercetown Fire Department, who taught us vital fire safety skills and even let us explore a fire truck! 🚒✨

🐅✨Yesterday, our 4th-grade students celebrated the conclusion of our read-aloud of Tiger Rising with a unique event: Tiger Rising Day! Students engaged in character dress-up and participated in three enriching stations, including a breakout session, soap carving to express personal connections, and sketched like Michelangelo! 🖌️ This event not only fostered creativity but also deepened their understanding of literary themes.
