🌟 Exciting Times in Second Grade! 🌟 We’ve had a whirlwind of fun in second grade over the past few weeks! 🎉 Our Fall Ball was a blast as students dressed up as their favorite book characters and danced the day away with friends. 📚💃 We also dove into some creative learning with our text feature surgery, where students "operated" on passages to remove text features! 🩺✂️ It’s amazing to see their enthusiasm for reading and exploration.

🌟 Happy Veterans Day! Today, we honor and express our gratitude to all veterans for their service and commitment to our country. We also want to celebrate our amazing 3rd graders! They showcased their talents by singing 50 Nifty United States, and a few other songs. They worked incredibly hard. We are so proud of their efforts! After the performance, our PTO hosted a Veterans Day breakfast. What to Expect at Military Appreciation Day! Get ready for an action-packed morning at Spearman Elementary School tomorrow, Monday, November 11! Mark your Calenders Fall Break November 4 - 5, 2024

Fifth grade students recently enjoyed a visit to Roper Mountain Science Center. There they had the opportunity to investigate the causes of a warehouse fire by studying the chemical and physical properties of substances. They also helped the Roper Mountain staff discover why the dry ice was disappearing from the supply cabinet. They concluded the day by visiting the planetarium. There they experienced riding a virtual roller coaster on Mars. It was a great day to be in fifth grade!

At Spearman, we believe reading isn't just about books; it's about building future leaders and role models. When our students engage with stories, they learn valuable life lessons and develop a sense of community. Let's continue to encourage our children to embrace reading and recognize its impact on their lives and the world around them.
