Williamston, SC - Anderson School District One is proud to announce that Wren High School has been recognized as a Model PLC at Work School by Solution Tree. This designation reflects the school’s continued commitment to fostering a collaborative environment where all students have an opportunity to learn at high levels.

“We’re proud to be recognized as a Model PLC at Work School by Solution Tree,” said Principal Dr. Kyle Whitfield. “This honor reflects the daily commitment our teachers and staff make to work together, support one another, and stay focused on our core mission at Wren: Every Student, Every Day. The PLC process has helped us maintain a strong focus on learning, collaboration, and results, and we’ve seen incredible growth as a result of it. I’m proud of what our school has accomplished, and we truly believe the best is yet to come at Wren High.”

To achieve this recognition, Wren High School implemented the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work process, which prioritizes teacher collaboration, establishing measurable goals, and reviewing student data to improve learning for all students. The implementation of this process played a major role in increasing student achievement.

“This recognition is validation for the hard work and dedication of the teachers and staff at Wren High School,” said Superintendent Dr. Seth Young. “They are a wonderful embodiment of the Tradition of Excellence Anderson One is known for throughout our community.”

Schools are awarded this recognition for meeting high standards through their ongoing commitment to the PLC concepts. The criteria include:

  • The implementation of the PLC concepts for at least three years

  • Evidence of improved student learning over the 3 years

  • Schools must submit an application to the PLC Review Committee detailing their practices, structures, and culture.
