Powdersville, S.C. - The Anderson School District One Board of Trustees recognized several fine arts programs for their outstanding achievements during its board meeting on August 26, 2025.

The board meeting was held at Powdersville High School, where both the Powdersville High School band and chorus performed.

The Powdersville High School Band Program and band director, Garrett Young, were recognized for receiving the SCBDA 2024-2025 Outstanding Performance Award.

The Powdersville Middle School Band Program and band director, Chris Mitchell, were recognized for receiving the SCBDA 2024-2025 Outstanding Performance Award.
