Williamston, S.C. - The Anderson School District One Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Lesli Porter as the next principal of Concrete Elementary School, following the retirement of Sherry Padgett at the end of the 2025-2026 school year.

Porter will lead the school as it transitions from Concrete Primary to Concrete Elementary School in the 2026-2027 school year, serving students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

“I am thrilled to become the new principal of Concrete Elementary,” said Porter. “As Concrete Primary becomes Concrete Elementary, the students and staff from Concrete Primary and Powdersville Elementary will merge together. My goal for Concrete Elementary is to create a positive school culture for staff and students that is centered on Anderson School District One's Tradition of Excellence.  I am extremely excited for the opportunity to lead Concrete Elementary in the years ahead!”

With nearly 20 years of experience in education, Porter has spent the majority of her career in Anderson School District One, including 12 years at Concrete Primary, where she has served as a teacher, literacy coach, and assistant principal.

A native of Abbeville, South Carolina, Porter started her career as a first-grade teacher at Long Cane Primary School. Porter has also taught at New Prospect Elementary School, Cedar Grove Elementary, and Wren Elementary.

“We are so proud of the great things that have been accomplished at Concrete during Mrs. Padgett’s time as principal, and we are confident that Mrs. Porter is the right person to lead the next chapter there,” said Superintendent Dr. Seth Young. “She is a dynamic instructional leader who will help enable the students and staff at Concrete to continue to accomplish great things in the classroom.”

Porter graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She also earned a Master of Education in Reading and an Education Specialist Degree in Administration & Supervision from Clemson University.

Porter’s husband is a proud graduate of Wren High School, and their three children attend school in Anderson School District One.
