Williamston, S.C. - The Anderson School District One Board of Trustees is excited to announce Daniel Bruce as the next principal of Wren High School, effective July 1, 2026.
Bruce joins Anderson One from Travelers Rest High School, where he currently serves as Principal. Under his leadership, the school saw gains in academic achievement, on-time graduation rate, and college and career readiness. The school also achieved its highest percentage of graduating seniors who completed career and technology pathways with industry certifications.
“I am excited to become part of Anderson School District One, one of the premier school districts in South Carolina,” said Daniel Bruce. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and families of Wren High School. I look forward to working alongside the school community to continue building a culture of excellence, opportunity, and support where every student can succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.”
Bruce was named the 2023 South Carolina Athletic Administrators Association AAA Principal of the Year for his support of interscholastic athletics.
Prior to becoming a principal, Bruce served as an assistant principal and teacher in Greenville County.
“We are excited to welcome Daniel Bruce to the Anderson One family,” said Superintendent Dr. Seth Young. “Mr. Bruce has a proven record of building positive relationships with students and staff. We are confident he will be a tremendous asset to the Wren community, with valuable leadership experience and a strong commitment to the Tradition of Excellence.”
Bruce will succeed Dr. Kyle Whitfield, who will transition to the role of Assistant Superintendent of Administration.
