Williamston, S.C. - The Anderson School District One Board of Trustees is excited to announce Jessica Thomas as the next principal of Hunt Meadows Elementary School, following the retirement of Carrie Pennington at the end of the 2025-26 school year. 

Thomas returns to Anderson School District One, where she began her career as a teacher at Powdersville Elementary School. She currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Westminster Elementary School in Oconee County. 

With nearly 20 years of experience in education, Thomas has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering collaborative learning environments focused on promoting academic excellence and a positive school culture. 

I am excited to return to Anderson One where I began my educational career 19 years ago,” said Jessica Thomas. “I’m honored for the opportunity to serve as the next Principal of Hunt Meadows Elementary, and look forward to building strong relationships and working alongside this incredible school community to ensure that all students reach their full potential.”

Thomas has a Masters in Administration and Supervision from Anderson University and a Masters in Education from Southern Wesleyan University. She received her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Newberry College.

Thomas will begin her role as Principal starting July 1, 2026.
