What is National School Social Worker Week?
National School Social Worker Week is a week-long celebration that takes place annually during the first full week of March. The week recognizes the important role that school social workers play in the success of students.

Another Art Month Recognition
Youth Art Month is an annual observance each March to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs.

March is Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM)! Music educators in South Carolina will be celebrating this important month through concerts, celebrations, and advocacy activities.
The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) designated March to focus on music education across the country. MIOSM’s purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of music education and access to music for all students. This month provides an opportunity to highlight music programs throughout communities and the state of South Carolina, and to share the benefits of high-quality music education programs in schools.

The National Association of Pupil Transportation (NAPT) has named the month of February “Love the Bus “ month, while the South Carolina Department of Pupil Transportation has named February 10-14 as “School Bus Driver Appreciation Week”. Please join Anderson School District One in celebrating our amazing bus drivers and aides this week.
Anderson School District One believes that school bus drivers and aides are so important to public education, and want to especially say thank you during this appreciation week! Their commitment to our students and district is invaluable.
“School Bus Driver Appreciation Week” is an opportunity to honor the iconic yellow school bus and the dedicated drivers who transport millions of students safely each day. This celebration provides a wonderful opportunity to express gratitude and raise awareness about the importance of school transportation. By highlighting the role of school buses, Bus Driver Appreciation Week reminds us of the essential service they provide, ensuring that every child can access education with safety and reliability. They’re the superheroes of safe and dependable school transportation.
This week serves as a reminder of the daily commitment these professionals make to ensure that each child arrives at school ready to learn and returns home safely. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the stories and experiences that unfold on those yellow buses which often become an extension of the classroom. From the first cheerful greeting by the bus driver to the friendships formed, the school bus journey is a cherished part of the educational experience.
“Our goal, now more than ever, is to harness the nation's affection for the iconic yellow school bus and highlight its vital role in our education system,” stated Molly McGee Hewitt, NAPT CEO and Executive Director. “Over the past five years, NAPT has navigated significant transformations within our association and the industry. Through it all, one truth remains constant – our small, yet impactful, association cherishes the yellow school bus. We believe it is a crucial component of our educational framework, and we will persist in our efforts to ensure that the yellow school bus and the dedicated professionals who safeguard students on their journeys, to and from school, are recognized as the everyday heroes that they truly are. Love the Bus month will serve as the bedrock to our work in 2025.”

National School Counseling Week 2025 (#NSCW25) is Feb. 3-7, 2025, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems.
